UGANDA — HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT & ONGOING PARTNERSHIP

Uganda Minority Shelter Consortium

Standing alongside LGBTQIA+ people facing extraordinary challenges in Uganda has been an important part of Out For Equality’s humanitarian work.

Our efforts have included supporting people facing immediate threats to their safety and well-being through assistance with housing, food, medical needs, documentation, counseling, education, and pathways to greater security. We have also supported shelter initiatives and efforts to help individuals access safety beyond Uganda when necessary.

Today, Out For Equality continues its commitment through the Uganda Minority Shelter Consortium (UMSC), serving as its fiscal sponsor and providing financial support when needed. This relationship helps sustain locally led efforts to support and protect vulnerable members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

While our direct individual assistance and international relocation services have concluded, our commitment to supporting the work of UMSC continues.

Stronger together.

We believe lasting change happens when the people closest to a challenge have the resources, connections, and support to create solutions.

Our role is to help strengthen that work, expand its reach, and connect people who share a vision of a more equal world.

Because equality doesn’t happen by itself.
