Queer Ink
Preserving stories. Documenting history. Amplifying queer Indian voices.

Making queer Indian history visible.
Queer Ink believes that queer stories should be told by queer Indians.
Through oral histories, publishing, filmmaking and the preservation of significant cultural artifacts, Queer Ink documents the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ people across India.
Its work seeks to ensure that queer lives, voices and histories are recognized as an integral part of India’s cultural and social history. By preserving personal narratives and making them accessible to wider audiences, Queer Ink creates opportunities for greater understanding, representation and connection across generations.
Founded in 2012, Queer Ink has developed a body of work dedicated to documenting and sharing the experiences of India’s LGBTQIA+ communities.
The original published profile identifies Queer Ink as a project of Lakshya Trust. This is a historical source statement; its current organizational structure has not been independently confirmed.
History belongs to everyone.
Queer stories are part of India’s story. Preserving them means ensuring that the experiences, contributions and voices of LGBTQIA+ people are not lost, overlooked or left out of the historical record.
Stories worth preserving.
Queer Ink works across oral history, film and publishing to document the experiences and cultural contributions of LGBTQIA+ Indians. Each medium offers a different way to preserve stories, challenge omissions and bring queer perspectives into wider conversations about India’s history and culture.

01 — ORAL HISTORIES & DIGITAL ARCHIVES
Every life has a story. Every story deserves to be remembered.
Queer Ink’s oral history project records the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ Indians, preserving personal narratives, documents, videos and significant cultural artifacts.
Its original project vision includes creating a searchable digital platform where these materials can be accessed and explored, contributing to a richer and more inclusive historical record of India.
The searchable platform was described as a planned resource. Its completion and public availability have not been confirmed.
02 — DOCUMENTARY FILMS
Bringing stories to the screen.

Queer Ink’s filmmaking work explores the lives, experiences and contributions of queer Indians, both contemporary and historical.
Its published project description includes short documentaries on queer individuals and subjects, alongside a feature-length documentary that was described as being in research and development.
The feature documentary’s current status has not been confirmed.
03 — PUBLISHING & LITERATURE
Changing the narrative, one story at a time.
Founded in 2012, Queer Ink’s publishing vision is to change the popular narrative of LGBTQIA+ India through books, articles and blogs.
Its published work focuses on queer Indian stories and lived experiences, helping preserve histories, share perspectives and make space for voices that have too often been overlooked.
